MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneota and Ada-Borup will meet for the Class 1A girls basketball championship.
Taylor Reiss had 22 points, including two free throws with 2.9 seconds left, to lead Minneota to a 47-44 victory over Bethlehem Academy of Faribault in the semifinals on Friday. Emily Stienessen added 14 points for the Vikings, who are making their third straight trip to the state tournament but first appearance in the title game on Saturday.
Jessie Mathews paced the Cardinals with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Monica Vega scored 18 points, going 9 for 10 from the free-throw line, to lift Ada-Borup past Win-E-Mac 62-55 in the other semifinal. Megan Kolness added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Cougars, who took third place last season and won championships in 2008 and 2009.
