MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say one person is dead and two others were seriously hurt in a head-on crash in far northwestern Minnesota on Sunday.
The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at about 2:29 p.m. on Highway 11 at 310th Avenue in Kittson County. When authorities arrived, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix was headed eastbound on Highway 11, crossed the center line and hit a 2006 Buick Lucerne head-on.
Authorities say Steven J. Wink, 54 of Aitkin, a passenger in the Pontiac, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and another passenger in the Pontiac were also seriously hurt. The condition of the driver of the Buick is not known.
Authorities say the accident is still under investigation with assistance from the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office.
