MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Techne, a maker of medical testing and diagnostic products, has named Charles Kummeth as its CEO.
Kummeth takes over from Gregory J. Melsen, who has served as interim CEO since November when Techne Corp. announced the retirement of Thomas Oland.
Melsen will continue to serve as vice president of finance and chief financial officer.
Kummeth, who will also serve as a Techne board member, most recently served as president of mass spectrometry and chromatography at scientific instruments maker Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc.
Kummeth’s appointment is expected to be effective on April 1.
Techne is based in Minneapolis. Its shares finished at $67.36 on Friday.
