NEW BRIGHTON, Minn. (WCCO) – A late night fire left some people out of their homes in New Brighton.

The fire started around 11 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex on the 1200 block of 10th Avenue North.

Firefighters were able to put the flames out quickly and contained the fire to just one unit. About 40 firefighters responded to the scene.

The person living there was at work at the time.

A few other units suffered smoke and water damage.

There is no word on what caused the fire. The Red Cross said they are assisting residents.
