DNR Searching For Asian Carp Near The Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Anglers searched chilly waters Wednesday for a predator that could threaten fishing in Minnesota.
The DNR spent the morning hunting for Asian carp in the Mississippi River near South St. Paul.
Anglers armed with nets hoped to reel in the fish to find out how far they've spread. Asian carp have already been caught in the Mississippi near the Twin Cities and in the St. Croix River.
The giant predators are dangerous because they can eat everything in the water, leaving little food for other fish.
Some can also jump out of the water and smack boaters.
