MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings will soon know if their new stadium can match the culinary experience at Target Field across town.
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which will manage the new stadium, has put out a request for proposals from food and beverage, catering and concession services hoping to serve up grub to football fans. Construction on the new, $975 million stadium is supposed to get underway next year, with a hoped-for opening in 2016.
Time will tell if the new football stadium matches Target Field’s showcase of Minnesota-grown food and drink. That stadium sells beer from Twin Cities brewers like Fulton and Surly, sausages from Minneapolis link experts Kramarczuk’s, and other North Star State delicacies.
Potential vendors have until April 23 to submit proposals to the stadium authority.
