2 Injured In Small Plane Crash In Douglas County

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) -- Authorities in Douglas County are investigating a small plane crash that happened at Lake Latoka on Friday morning.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened near the 600 block of West Lake Latoka at about 10:30 a.m. Several witnesses called 911 after the incident.

Deputies say that two people were injured in the crash, but they were described as minor injuries not requiring medical attention.

The pilot said that they were heading to the Alexandria Airport and making an approach to the airport when the plan experienced mechanical issues.

The pilot managed to maintain control of the plane and deploy an aircraft parachute.

There were two adults and two children in the plane, in all.
