Old Dutch High School Athlete of the Week: Graham Woodward

OLD DUTCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Tuesday, April 2, 2013:

Graham Woodward
Sport – Basketball
High School – Edina
Class – Senior

 

The senior guard, who has signed with Penn State, had a stellar state tournament for the Hornets. He had a tournament-best 40 points in a Class 4A quarterfinal win over Andover, scoring 32 in the first half and hitting 16 of 24 field goal attempts in the game. He then scored 17 points in a semifinal loss to Park Center and 29 in a victory over Eden Prairie in the third-place game. His total of 86 points in the tournament led all scorers. It was Edina’s best finish at the boys state basketball tournament since winning three consecutive state championships from 1966 through 1968. Woodward finished his career as Edina’s all-time leading scorer.
