ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Outdoors retailer Gander Mountain is set to open the state’s first firearms “super center” at the end of the month, while pushing for owners to take greater responsibility regarding gun safety.

The store is scheduled to open in Rogers, Minn. on Rogers Drive at a pre-existing 30,000-square-foot facility that’s currently being remodeled.

The store said the new super center will serve as a specialty retail outlet tailored for firearms enthusiasts, and will feature thousands of new and used firearms, accessories, ammunition and security.

The store reiterated its campaign to stress responsibility among firearm owners, directing them to take a pledge at their website and to use the hashtag #responsibilitypledge on social media outlets to raise awareness of responsible gun ownership.

The Rogers location will be Gander Mountain’s twelfth location in Minnesota.
