MDH: 2 More Flu-Related Deaths, Outbreak Slowing

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Health officials say two additional deaths have been attributed to the flu in Minnesota, but they say the outbreak is slowing.

The deaths were confirmed by the Minnesota Department of Health last week. In addition, 15 people were hospitalized with flu symptoms. That compares with about 600 hospitalizations per week at the peak of the outbreak in January.

It's been a deadly year for the flu in Minnesota with 186 deaths since October.

No nursing homes or schools reported confirmed outbreaks of the flu in the last week. Health officials say the flu season can linger into May.
