BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (WCCO) – One woman is dead after a jeep crashed into a tree in Brooklyn Center early Monday morning.

The crash happened at about 1:30 a.m. A Jeep went over the median at the 6100 block of Shingle Creek Parkway.

Police say two women were in the Jeep at the time. One got out on her own and is expected to survive. The other died at the scene.

Police are investigating but say they do believe alcohol was involved. They are waiting to speak with the survivor at the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
