Nicollet Mall Undergoing $30M Transformation
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis is making plans for a major transformation of Nicollet Mall.
The mall will be completely reconstructed for the 12 blocks between Washington Avenue and Grant Street.
A design competition will be held to make the mall more "people friendly" for things such as sidewalk dining, parades, and the farmers market.
The estimated cost is $30 to $40 million.
Funding will come from the state and downtown property owners.
The project should be done by 2016.
