Street Sweeping Begins Tuesday In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's an annual sign of spring in the Twin Cities, but it's just a matter of time when it will actually start.

City crews in Minneapolis will start street sweeping very soon, as early as Tuesday. The initiative is done to clean up all the dirt and grime left behind after all the ice and snow melts from the winter.

The annual street sweeping goes from now through May 10. The important thing to remember is that temporary "No Parking" signs will be out as crews get to work. Keep an eye out for those to avoided getting ticketed and towed.

Because of this year's colder and longer winter, the street sweeping efforts have been delayed by at least a week. Many city streets still have packed ice.
