MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins is coming to Minneapolis.

Collins is scheduled to appear at the Pantages Theatre in downtown Minneapolis on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. He’ll read selections from a variety of his work, with an emphasis on his new book, “Aimless Love: New and Selected Poems 2003-2013″ to be released in October.

Collins also will take questions from the audience and hold a book signing. The night after the Pantages event, Collins will appear as a guest on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion” on Nov. 2.

Collins was U.S. poet laureate from 2001 to 2003. He’s known for his accessible style that attracts people of all ages and backgrounds to his readings.
