Wis. Boy, 16, Killed In I-94 Crash Near Stillwater

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 16-year-old boy from western Wisconsin was killed Thursday after his car lost control on Interstate 94 near Stillwater and hit a semi-truck head on, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at about 3:05 p.m. Thursday on eastbound I-94 at Highway 95 in Stillwater. A 2007 Chevy Cobalt was driving westbound on I-94 when it lost control, crossed the center median and hit the trailer of a semi-truck head-on. That truck was headed eastbound on I-94.

The driver of the Chevy Cobalt, Jonathon H. Pohlen of Houlton, Wis., was killed. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the crash with the help of the Washington County Sheriff's Office, but the highway was wet at the time due to Thursday's snowfall.
