MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 4-month-old infant has died after a school bus collided with a van on icy roads in North Branch, Minn., Thursday, according to police.

North Branch Police said the crash happened just before 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Forest Boulevard and Crestview Drive. Slick roads appear to be a factor in the crash.

When officers got to the scene, they found the injured infant in the van and two adult drivers. The school bus held no children.

Emergency crews brought the infant to University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital in critical condition. On Saturday, the infant died as a result suffered in the crash.

The drivers were treated and released from a hospital in Wyoming, Minn.

The van driver has been identified as Joshua Cash. The bus driver has been identified as Kim Schwinn.

An investigation is ongoing.
