MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are reminding the public and pet owners to be cautious around ice after a dog fell through ice on Sand Lake Thursday.

At 4:17 p.m., the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a dog that had fallen through the ice of Sand Lake near Hibbing.

After enduring nearly an hour in the cold water, "Buddy" was rescued by the Silica Volunteer Fire Department.
