MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The nice weather that’s on tap this weekend means it’s time to clean out those heavy winter coats.

But instead of boxing them up, consider donating them to kids in need. The “Coats for Kids” drive kicks off Friday around the Twin Cities.

You can bring your new or gently used coats to any of Pilgrim Cleaners’ 25 Twin Cities locations. WCCO Radio, sponsoring the initiative, did their Friday morning show from the Pilgrim Cleaners location in Golden Valley.

Officials said donations are being accepted through Saturday.
