Eagle Scout, 'Cycles For Change' Team Up To Give Away Bikes

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - One local Eagle Scout's service project is really taking flight and making a difference in his community.

Tim Kemp is a big biking fan. He believes anyone that also likes cycling should have a bike to ride.

Saturday, Kemp teamed up with a group called "Cycles for Change" to collect bikes for people who couldn't otherwise afford them.

"Part of this project is we'll go into their shop and help fix up their bikes, two Thursdays of next month," Kemp said. "So far, I've raised 90 bikes."

Once all the bikes are collected, they'll remove and replace a lot of the handle bars and tune up the brakes.

Then "Cycles for Change" will help distribute the bikes. This is the final project Tim will have to complete before becoming an Eagle Scout.
