Twins' Perkins Comes Through For Fan In Despair

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Twins fans know pitcher Glen Perkins usually comes through with the save of the game. But on Sunday, he came through as a hero for one fan in particular.

Alex Berg reached out to the closer Sunday on Twitter after he says an effort to buy tickets to the game online fell through. Perkins, who gets tons of tweets each day, ended up responding.

After a few questions, Perkins got Alex, his grandma, girlfriend and cousin hooked up with seats.

Alex told WCCO the tweet was simply an "act of desperation."

He's a student at Bemidji State University and doesn't get to many games, but he's hoping to go to Target Field this summer and thank Perkins in person.
