15-Year-Old Girl Dies In ATV Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 15-year-old girl has died following a northern Minnesota ATV crash Wednesday afternoon, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

According to the report, at 4:12 p.m., the Sheriff's Office responded to the report of an ATV crash near the 6900 block of Harris Road in Northland Township. The driver of the side-by-side ATV lost control, causing the ATV to leave the gravel roadway and flip over.

The two occupants of the ATV, both girls, were thrown from the ATV. They have been identified as 15-year-old Tyleen Weber of Canyon, Minn. and 16-year-old Emma Dunsmore of Culver, Minn.

Weber, the driver, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth in critical condition. She later succumbed to her injuries and died Wednesday evening.

Dunsmore was taken to St. Lukes Hospital for minor injuries and has since been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
