OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. (WCCO) – Two 3-year-old boys were trampled by buffaloes Friday in Otter Tail County, and their condition is unknown at the time, according to authorities.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office said the two toddlers wandered from their home into a secured fenced-in area where buffaloes were being kept at around 10 a.m. Friday in Battle Lake, Minn.

The mother of the children found them after they had been trampled by several buffaloes. Authorities said they were conscious when help arrived.

One of the boys was air-lifted to Fargo.
