WI Teen Couple Died Leaping From Mpls' Stone Arch Bridge

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A teenage couple from western Wisconsin died Tuesday morning after leaping from a Twin Cities bridge.

Erika Borgstrom and Dakotah Coach went to St. Croix Central High School in Hammond, Wis.

She was a sophomore and he was a senior, and friends told WCCO the two were a couple.

Investigators say they jumped from the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and drowned.

Their bodies have not been found. This marks the third suicide their high school has dealt with this year.

One of Borgstrom's teachers told us the community is shocked.

"We are just stunned, and just at a loss,"  St. Croix Central High School teacher Laura Fern said.

A suicide awareness group said an apparent suicide pact like this is very rare and happens in less than two percent of cases.
