SHERBURNE COUNTY, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a car struck a school bus carrying 30 students Thursday afternoon in Sherburne County.

Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott said three people are injured after a school bus, which had stopped, was struck from behind by another vehicle about 2:30 p.m. Thursday on County Road 5 in Big Lake Township.

That car then hit a tree after continuing into the ditch. The driver of the car was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital.

A juvenile passenger from the bus, and the driver of the bus, 45-year-old Rachelle Bayer of Big Lake, were transported to CentraCare Hospital in Monticello with minor injuries.
