FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) — There are some big names offering free performances at this year’s Minnesota State Fair, including an infamous trio of mop-topped brothers and a former member of Prince’s musical entourage in the 1980s.
Hanson will perform on Aug. 26 and 27, as part of the Leinie Lodge Bandshell Tonight! concert series. Sheila E. is also set to take over the Leinie Lodge on Aug. 28 and 29.
The other acts scheduled to perform in the series are Sunny Sweeney, Blue Öyster Cult, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, and Larry Gatlin & The Gatlin Brothers.
In all, more than 900 free shows are slated for the Great Minnesota Get-Together, which runs from Aug. 22 through Sept. 2 this year.
Some other familiar names to perform for free: Lucy Michelle and the Velvet Lapelles, the Okee Dokee Brothers, Tonic Sol-fa, GB Leighton, Chastity Brown, the 34th Infantry Division “Red Bull” Band, Mountain Heart, Dale Watson, and many others.
