ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Crews say they have pulled a body from the Mississippi River near the Ford Dam south of the Minneapolis and St. Paul downtown areas.

A spokesperson from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office said that the Ramsey County Water Patrol assisted Minneapolis Fire and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office in recovering the body.

They responded to the scene at about 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Crews said it appears the body had been in the river for some time.

It was not clear whether the body was someone who fell into the river or jumped. Authorities did not provide an identity for the body.
