MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The body of a woman was pulled from a channel of the Mississippi River Wednesday after fishermen made the discovery.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol pulled the woman’s body from the water around 11 a.m., near Fort Snelling State Park.

A fisherman spotted the body tangled in a tree in the channel of the river, according to authorities.

At this point, authorities have not identified the woman and are not releasing many details.

The body was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office for positive identification.
