Twins Activate 3B Plouffe From 7-Day DL

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have activated third baseman Trevor Plouffe from the seven-day disabled list.

Plouffe suffered a concussion May 21 at Atlanta. He was hit in the head by Braves second baseman Dan Uggla's shin while trying to break up a double play. Plouffe quickly passed the concussion tests required by Major League Baseball for reinstatement, and the Twins made the move Wednesday.

Plouffe was in the lineup for the game against Milwaukee but scratched before it began because of tightness in his left calf.

Plouffe is hitting .254 with four homers and 17 RBIs. He's back for June, the month in which he hit 11 homers last season.

The Twins optioned outfielder Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester to make room. Colabello was 1 for 11 in five games.
