ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) – A 28-year-old man was stabbed to death outside of an apartment building in Alexandria Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Alexandria Police Chief Richard Wyffels says at about 1:11 p.m., authorities responded to a report of a stabbing at 1705 East 6th Ave.

Upon arrival, they found Phillip Alstadt of Alexandria dead.

The suspect, 25-year-old Kody Klimek, also of Alexandria, was arrested and taken into custody.

The victim and the suspect were acquaintances. The stabbing followed an altercation between the two men.
