Police: NE Mpls Shooting Kills 1

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are investigating a deadly shooting at an early Saturday morning party.

The call came in about 4:30 a.m. on the 2400 block of Washington Street in northeast Minneapolis. Police say a man in his 20s was shot mulitple times while sitting in his vehicle.

Minneapolis Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington says authorities haven't made an arrest.

"Homicide investigators are actively working this case. They have interviewed several witnesses that were at the scene," Barrington said.

She added that the shooting is an isolated incident.

"It was not a random shooting. I can't go into any more detail, but we do not believe the public is at risk at this time," Barrington said.

Minneapolis Police urge anyone with information about this shooting to call the department's Violent Crimes Investigation Division at 612-692-8477 (TIPS).

This is the 11th homicide of the year in Minneapolis.
