Authorities: Woman Dies In Carlton Co. Crash; Alcohol A Factor

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Carlton County Sheriff's Office says alcohol was a factor in a two-vehicle crash that killed a 34-year-old Cloquet woman Saturday afternoon.

At 5:42 p.m., authorities responded to the crash at the intersection of Canosia Road and North Cloquet Road in Thomson Township.

There, a female passenger, identified as Kari Renee Luoma, was reported dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car, identified as 25-year-old Megan Dana Dickenson of Duluth, was taken to the hospital.

Details are limited, but authorities have said that alcohol consumption is a contributor and that the accident is still under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
