MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was pulled from the Mississippi River near the Wakota Bridge on the border of South St. Paul and Inver Grove Heights Sunday night.
The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said a person fishing on the river in the area discovered the body at about 7 p.m. Sunday and called 911. When authorities got to the scene, they discovered a man’s badly decomposed and naked body near the shore.
The body was recovered and turned over to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office for identification. Authorities are still investigating the nature of the man’s death and if foul play is suspected. The incident is still under investigation.
