MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said two people were killed and three others were hurt after a van rolled over near Staples early Tuesday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash at about 4:47 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 210 at mile post 89 near Staples. When authorities arrived, a 1997 Chevy Astro van was headed westbound on Highway 210 when it left the roadway, hit an approach and launched into trees.

Authorities said the crash is still under investigation, including who the driver was when the van rolled.

The Minnesota State Patrol identified the two killed as 33-year-old Daniel R. Waldron of Fridley and 23-year-old Amanda E. Cowan of Miltona. An 8-year-old girl was also seriously hurt, as was a 28-year-old woman. A 23-year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and it appears a baby also was not injured.
