MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The new official commemorative art for this year’s State Fair was unveiled on Wednesday.
Minneapolis artist Marie Olofsdotter unveiled her creation on Wednesday on the state fairgrounds.
The piece recognizes agriculture as the heart of the state fair, along with Minnesota’s beautiful land.
“I do a lot of work as a teaching artist in rural Minnesota and I have a strong affinity to the land,” she said. “We’re in a beautiful state and I wanted to honor that – the roots of our fair.”
Marie said she loves how the fair reaches out to every community across the state, and said it’s an incredible honor to be the fair’s official artist.
