MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun. This weekend is all about getting outside.

National Get Outdoors Day
In fact, Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is celebrating by offering free admission to all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas. From first timers or frequenters, everyone is invited to enjoy the great outdoors.

Minnesota Music Summit
Or you could get outside and enjoy some free live music in St. Paul. The Minnesota Music Summit is downtown for three days. Hear concerts, attend workshops and network.

If fashion is more your thing, First Ave. hosts an electric fashion show Saturday night in the main room. It’s called Voltage, and it’s all charged up by local designers. Models will strut their stuff to live music by local bands and artists. Tickets are $33 at the door.
