Video Captures Woman Stealing Planter From Stillwater Brewery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An elderly-looking woman appears to have been caught on video stealing a planter early Saturday morning from a Stillwater brewery.

The manager at the Lift Bridge Brewing Co. noticed the missing planter when he came into work. He then checked the surveillance tape, which showed a white-haired lady hauling the planter away at around 5:30 a.m.

The manager described the planter as being a few feet tall, and heavy. He said it is worth about $125, including the plants it held.

He added that he was shocked to see what the thief looked like. He also said that other businesses reported planter thefts Saturday morning.

Stillwater Police, however, said they hadn't heard of other planter thefts that day. But on May 1 and May 29, two wrought-iron plant stands were stolen from the Church of St. Michael in Stillwater, police said. Those were valued together at $900.

Police are investigating the thefts.
