MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A new floating piece of art is tapping in to how the city is feeling.

MIMMI is being called the emotional gateway to Minneapolis, and this weekend it will be the center piece of one of the city’s most unique festivals: the Secret City.

The giant piece of art is currently near the Minneapolis Convention Center.

Its creators say that it channels the power of positive and negative words from local social networkers to provide the inflated object with different hues.

Positive words make the object light up with warm colors like red and orange. Negative words will make the MIMMI sculpture display cooler colors like blue and green.
