Postal Worker Struck, Killed At Post Office

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A postal worker was hit and killed Tuesday morning after an accident at the Brooklyn Center Post Office, according to police.

Authorities said officers were called around 7:25 a.m. to the post office located at 6845 Lee Ave. in Brooklyn Center.

Upon arrival, they were directed to the loading dock area where the accident occurred.

Police said a postal employee was backing their truck up to the loading dock when it struck another employee who was on foot.

The postal worker that was struck died from his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. The driver is being fully cooperative with the investigation.

"At this point we do no suspect foul play. At this point this is just a tragic accident," Brooklyn Center Police Commander Tim Gannon said.
