MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Drivers beware: the Stillwater Lift Bridge is slated to close for a few hours Wednesday at noon.

The Department of Transportation say the closure is necessary for crews to repair a cable, which snapped Sunday night, and inspect the lift system.

The bridge is expected to reopen to cars by 4 p.m. MnDOT says it hopes to have the bridge open to boat traffic by the end of the week.
