Cops: 2 Adults, 4-Year-Old Child Shot In N. Mpls

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police found two adults and a 4-year-old child suffering from gunshot wounds Tuesday night on the city's north side.

Cyndi Barrington of Minneapolis Police said officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of 36th and Penn avenues just after 9:40 p.m. They found the victims inside a parked car. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Preliminary information suggests someone approached the car, began shouting and opened fire. Barrington said it appears all three victims were shot in the leg. They were transported to North Memorial Medical Center and are currently in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and is still at-large. He has been described as a black male, 5-foot-8 with a heavy set build. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Minneapolis Police tipline at 612-692-8477.

Police said that this was not a random act and it appears to be an isolated incident, so the public is not at risk.
