Man Shot Dead In Minneapolis, Woman In Custody

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities said one person is dead and a suspect is in custody after an early-morning shooting in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

Minneapolis Police responded to a shooting at about 4:45 a.m. on the 2400 block of Ilion Avenue North.

When authorities arrived, they found the body of an adult male inside the residence who had died from an apparent gunshot wound. Police said they were able to immediately identify a suspect and several witnesses at the scene.

Police said an adult female was taken into custody without incident.

"It doesn't appear to be any danger to the public because the people involved in this incident are acquaintances and they appeared to have stayed on the scene waiting for the police to arrive," Minneapolis Police Inspector Michael Kjos said.

Authorities are still investigating what led up to the shooting and have not yet released the name of the victim.
