SHAKOPEE, Minn. (WCCO) — This summer dinosaurs are taking over Valleyfair.

“Dinosaurs Alive” is the big new attraction this year at the theme park. It promises a life size trip back into time. The exhibit features huge, life-sized dinosaurs that are to scale and that come alive when theme park-goers are nearby.

Todd Larkin with Valleyfair said the exhibit is purely based on true fossil evidence found throughout the world. It’s a great attraction for families with young kids. Being at Valleyfair makes it unique in that it’s probably the only spot in Minnesota where a kid can ride a rollercoaster and learn about dinosaurs in the same day.

The exhibit is also interactive as some of the dinosaurs feature a touch panel where you can make them move, make them breathe or make loud noises. The park features dinosaurs of all kinds, and an area where kids can dig for fossils.

Dinosaurs Alive costs $5 to get in on top of your charge to get into Valleyfair.
