Public Helps Locate Suspect In Hinckley Hit-And-Run Death

HINCKLEY, Minn. (WCCO) -- A public tip has helped authorities arrest a man in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed a man from Wyoming, Minn., earlier this month.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Derek Anthony Sanders, 31, of Wyoming, Minn., was taken into custody from his parents' residence Wednesday morning without incidence.

Sanders is suspected of being involved in the crash that killed Trevor Langlois in Hinckley on June 17. Langlois, a 24-year-old Army veteran, had been pulled over on a freeway entrance ramp to I-35 in Hinckley with some truck problems when a vehicle hit him and fled.

After asking for the public's help in finding a new Ford F150 truck with front damage and missing a right mirror, a tip was received by the Bloomington Police Department Monday night that led to the arrest of Sanders.
