Siebert Field: A Place For All Kinds Of MN Baseball

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Outdoor baseball is the craze in this state, the Gophers added their own new stadium this spring.

But it took until summer to really appreciate it -- and no one likes it more than the young players during summer baseball camps.

"Oh it's fantastic -- plenty of opportunity, and plenty of room for kids to play and for skill development," Lee Swenson said. "You don't have to worry about maintenance."

The field allows for youth to play and not be distracted by things like dirt.

"You don't get dirty, so I can actually wear shorts when I slide," Mike Barton said.

It's a baseball home unlike their little league park.

"There's a 'Wow' factor," Swenson said. "The kids can't wait to run in here with their mouth and eyes wide open."

It's a home for Minnesota baseball.

"We get good use from it, all the way from the Gopher program, to amateur baseball, and high school baseball," Tyler Oakes said.
