Vikings Announce Signing Of LB Desmond Bishop

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Thursday they've signed free agent linebacker Desmond Bishop, who previously played for the Green Bay Packers.

Bishop started 30 games between the 2010 and 2011 seasons, including Super Bowl XLV. He collected a career-high 142 tackles and five sacks during the 2011 season. Bishop missed all of last season after suffering a hamstring injury in the preseason.

Bishop has 310 career tackles, including nine sacks and seven forced fumbles. To make room for him on the team's active roster, the Vikings waived Stanford Keglar, a linebacker out of Purdue.
