Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
Get Breaking News First
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun. We are looking at a weekend full of nice weather, so we’ve found some great outdoor activities to add to your social calendar.
Thursday is Turtle Day at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital. Turtles will be dressed in their racing gear and pad to the edge of a bull’s-eye using their fastest crawl. The first turtle to the edge is a winner. The fundraiser starts at 10 a.m. Spectators are welcome to this free, heart-warming event.
The Beer Dabbler
The weather should be nice enough to celebrate at the beer dabbler Friday night. Here, beer lovers will be able to sample craft brews from 25 local breweries.
Twin Cities Pride
Meanwhile, it’s Twin Cities Pride this weekend. The official festival kickoff is Saturday in Loring Park. There will be concerts, art, food and festivities through Sunday. Admission is free. And arguably the biggest pride attraction is Sunday’s parade through downtown Minneapolis. The colorful celebration will travel down Hennepin Avenue starting at 11 a.m.
