State Patrol: 1 Killed, 3 Hurt In St. Louis County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed and three others were hurt, two seriously, in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in St. Louis County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities responded to the crash at Highway 73 and Highway 1 at about 6:34 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, a 1998 Honda Accord was headed westbound on Highway 1 when it went through a stop sign at Highway 73 and hit a tractor trailer carrying spring wheat.

The State Patrol said five people were in the Honda Accord at the time of the crash. A 19-year-old woman from Liberty, Mo., was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 22-year-old man and 21-year-old woman were seriously hurt.  Authorities said another suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt. Authorities identified the lone victim who died as Elizabeth C. Hill. She was one of the four passengers in the car.
