MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s a long Independence Day weekend for many in Minnesota. Some are still working, but for others it’s a happy few days off. If you’ve got time to spare, here are some fun ways to spend your 4th.
Freedom From Pants Ride VII
On July 4, in a celebration of American bodies both beer-gutted and lean, the seventh annual Freedom From Pants Ride will bring joy to Minneapolis’s streets. The FFPR is a slow-paced bike party that has, in years past, drawn hundreds of nearly naked cyclists. This year’s edition will begin at a vacant lot on the edge of Northeast at 6 p.m., and will conclude at Powderhorn Park’s Independence Day festivities. Admission is free.
Delano Fourth of July Parade
Delano will swell with folks looking to get a peek at this year’s Fourth of July parade. It starts at 9 a.m. and our very own Mike Max is this year’s grand marshal. The WCCO Mobile Weather watcher will also make an appearance.
2013 Fireworks Guide
And of course, fireworks will blast all over the state. Cities like Edina, Shakopee, Excelsior and beyond will host huge displays. Click above for a full list of fireworks displays.
