MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 26-year-old man who was critically hurt in an ATV crash on the Fourth of July died Monday at Regions Hospital.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at about 5:07 p.m. Thursday near the area of 180th Street and Goodwin Avenue. When authorities arrived, a man driving an ATV was headed eastbound on 180th Street when it lost control and crashed.

Authorities said the victim, later identified as Isaac James Lucking of Vermillion Township, suffered a head injury and was the only person on the ATV when it crashed. He also was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to Regions Hospital, where he died Monday.

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol are still investigating what led up to the crash.
