MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun! The Twin Cities will be hopping this weekend, and we have packed your social calendar.

Midwest Tomato Fest
Perhaps you’ve seen photos of Spaniards bathed in something resembling spaghetti sauce and thought, “I could go for a good old fashioned food fight.” Perhaps you just like tomatoes. Whatever the reason, the Midwest Tomato Fest is here this Saturday for you. Gather downtown Minneapolis from 2 to 7 p.m. for a full day of dancing, entertainment, and live music. You can also stop at the beer garden, and by 6 p.m. you’ll be warmed up and ready to take to the tomatoes. Don’t forget your goggles.

Bastille Day
Sunday is Bastille Day, a celebration of the French Revolution. You can let yourself eat cake with French men and women at Barbette in Uptown, where they will have live music. Downtown, Brit’s Pub and Vincent A Restaurant are throwing a bash with rooftop theater, live music and French food.

Basilica Block Party
After the Basilica Block party rocks out Friday and Saturday, head back to the grounds Sunday for the Move & Groove Family Fest from 10:30a to 3:00p The Imagination Movers, stars of Disney Junior TV, will headline this year’s event, designed to energize the entire family, all day long.
